Teton Quant

Teton Quant is a proprietary, family-owned quantitative trading firm based in the United Arab Emirates. We develop and operate systematic trading and arbitrage strategies across digital and global markets using only our own capital and the capital of affiliated entities.

Our purpose is to allocate and manage internal capital with a high degree of discipline, transparency, and risk control. We concentrate on liquid markets and clearly defined strategies, using technology and data to implement decisions in a consistent and repeatable way.

Teton Quant operates as a trading business, not as an investment manager to the public. We do not solicit or accept funds from external clients, do not open accounts for third parties, and do not offer investment products or advisory services. All activity is for proprietary purposes only.

The firm’s focus is on three pillars:

  • Risk discipline – Structured limits, predefined loss thresholds, and continuous monitoring.
  • Robust infrastructure – Purpose-built systems for data, execution, and oversight.
  • Systematic process – Rules-based strategies that can be studied, tested, and refined.

From its base in the UAE, Teton Quant aims to combine a conservative risk culture with modern quantitative methods, supporting the broader objectives of the family and affiliated businesses over the long term.

Teton Quant is a privately held quantitative trading business headquartered in the United Arab Emirates. The firm was created to manage and compound family and affiliated capital through systematic, market-neutral and data-driven strategies.

The founding team combines experience in entrepreneurship, logistics, technology, and systematic trading. Teton Quant was established to formalize internal trading operations, centralize research and execution, and apply institutional standards to the management of proprietary capital.

We operate as a proprietary trading firm. All trading activity is conducted for the benefit of the owners and affiliated entities. Teton Quant does not manage third-party client accounts and does not offer investment products to the public.

Our culture emphasizes discipline, conservative risk management, and continuous improvement. Decisions are driven by data, documented processes, and clear risk limits rather than discretionary market views. We seek to build a long-term track record of controlled risk and consistent process, rather than short-term speculation.

OUR APPROACH

Approach & Strategies

Teton Quant employs systematic, rules-based strategies with a primary focus on capital preservation and controlled risk exposure. We favor liquid markets, transparent execution, and frameworks that can be rigorously tested and monitored.

Our trading approach is centered around the following principles:

Settings icon

Market-neutral orientation

We seek opportunities where returns are driven by price discrepancies, spreads, and structural inefficiencies rather than broad directional market moves. Net exposure is kept tightly controlled.

High liquidity and short holding periods

We focus on instruments and markets with sufficient depth and volume.
Many strategies involve short holding periods to reduce gap and event risk.

Pre-defined rules and testing

Strategies are developed using historical data, forward testing, and staged deployment. Entry, exit, and risk parameters are defined in advance and implemented programmatically.

Settings icon

Risk limits embedded in code

Position sizing, leverage, and loss limits are constrained at the strategy, instrument, and venue level. Automatic protective behavior is implemented to reduce reliance on manual intervention.

Representative internal strategy types include:

Settings icon

Arbitrage and spread strategies

Capturing price differences between related instruments, pairs, or venues, subject to strict execution and inventory controls.

Settings icon

Execution and microstructure strategies

Improving realized execution quality through smart order routing, order book analysis, and transaction cost reduction techniques.

The descriptions above are provided solely to outline our internal approach to managing proprietary capital. They are not an offer of any product or service.

Technology & Infrastructure

Teton Quant operates a dedicated technology stack designed for stable, repeatable, and observable trading operations.

Data and research environment

We maintain pipelines for collecting, cleaning, and storing market data from multiple venues. Research workflows support backtesting, simulation, and performance analysis under realistic cost and liquidity assumptions.

Execution architecture

Trading systems connect to exchanges and brokers through authenticated APIs. Order routing, throttling, and risk checks are managed programmatically to control exposure and avoid unintended behavior.

Environment Separation

Development, testing, and production environments are separated. Strategy changes follow a staged process: research → simulation → paper trading → limited-size deployment → scaled deployment.

Monitoring and observability

We track key metrics including connectivity status, latency, order rejections, position limits, realized and unrealized P&L, and risk utilization. Alerts are used to flag deviations from expected behavior.

Security and access control

Access to trading systems, credentials, and wallets is restricted based on role. We apply common security practices for key management, authentication, and change control.
